The trademark ability to give the customer a solution, specifically composed to suit their needs will not change during this transformation. This ability is achieved through modularization – creating a design solution that can be combined to almost endless combinations. To ensure that the choices for our customer are kept as open as possible there is a need to verify that different components don’t collide with each other – neither by the chosen design geometry, nor by the set of rules (conditions) that are defined in our structure systems (TS/KS/VCR/TCR). As SCANIA is Driving the Shift towards a sustainable transport solution, in the coming years introducing new solutions to the modular toolbox – it is vital that the modularization is kept.
Here is were You can make a difference! At the group RVLD we are responsible for the installation assurance of projects introducing new components – in all parts of our vehicles – cab, chassis, bus. We do this by being a part of the running projects in the development phase, making installation assurance on the complete modular toolbox, as well as assuring that individual vehicles in the test vehicle process and vehicles built in SOP do not have any unknown interferences.
Description and responsibilities
You will come in contact with many areas of our vehicles in your assurance tasks, and you will use an understanding deeper than many, of our “rulebook” – our structure - to fulfill your tasks. You will work with colleagues in different walks of life, both inside the group and at design and support groups all over the company. Your closest colleagues are eager to support you in your daily work, and you will receive an appointed mentor for your first time here. You will get to work with process improvement, and have the possibility to support in our tool development.
You will be responsible for installation assurance of projects – identifying deviations and reporting them to the correct organisation, working individually to meet the project/customer need at the right time, and ensuring that project timelines are met. You will work in most areas of our vehicles, depending on the projects. By using a combination of product and structure understanding, 3D geometry and a set of our own developed tools you will ensure that our modular system is prepared for the future and our products can be built efficient and on spot for our customer.
• We expect that you have a BSc in Engineering, or equivalent and relevant work experience to fulfil the task.
• You have an experience from working with our products and an understanding of vehicle composition - both truck and bus.
• Good knowledge and experience of our structural systems (OAS, Catia/Enovia) is required.
• Good written and spoken English is essential.
• Knowledge in programming is meritorious, especially VB.net, VBA and SQL.
You are structured and analytical and have a good attention to details without loosing track of the bigger picture. You focus on the solution while acknowledging the problem and you see improvements as a natural part of your work. You take responsibility and enjoy working independently, but have no problem contacting and involving colleagues from other departments to solve a problem at hand.
As a Scania employee, you are offered several benefits in addition to personal and professional development opportunities. These benefits include mutual bonus, company car, occupational pension, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices and much more.
