The department operates on both Campus Östersund and Campus Sundsvall. At the department, education and research are conducted in the subjects of media and communication science, quality technology and management and Information systems. Job description Software defines a critical part of our society’s digitalization. Within the Software Engineering and Education (SEE) research group, we expand the research front on processes, methods and tools for software development and its education. We work, among other topics, on forming the organisational AI transformation, testing methods for AI/ML software, as well as human and societal-aspects within software engineering and its education. The position is primarily research-focused and divided into approximately 80% research and 20% teaching at undergraduate level. You will contribute to experimental studies, co-author scientific publications and grant applications, and collaborate with internal and external partners. Teaching duties may include supervision of student theses and participation in course activities within the department’s programmes.   Requirements To be eligible for a post-doctoral appointment, your qualifications must match the requirements described in https://www.miun.se/medarbetare/styrdokument/ny-styrning-planering-och-uppfoljning/Personal/Anstalla-personal/?item=311447. The applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree or foreign degree deemed  equivalent at the day of employment (obtained no more than three years before the application deadline according to MIUN Employment Procedures).   Assessment The selection will be based on the applicant’s scientific merits and their fit to the SEE research agenda. In the assessment, emphasis will be placed on: - Documented research experience within requirement engineering of AI/ML software systems and/or human-aspects in software engineering, specifically regarding well-being and stress. - Publication record and evidence of research independence and collaboration, and publications in top ranked software engineering journals.   Personal Qualities The candidate should be: - Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to identify and communicate potential solutions and seek support when needed. - Creative, hands-on and able to move between theoretical work, whiteboard discussions and implementation/experimentation. - Dependable and able to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as collaborate constructively within multidisciplinary teams. - Clear communicator with good cooperation skills and flexibility. - Strong drive to contribute to a flourishing research environment by being present and helping reach group milestones and goals.   Other assessment criteria - Experience with empirical research methods (e.g., experiments, case studies, surveys). - English proficiency is required. - Pedagogical skills; experience in teaching and thesis supervision is considered a merit.   Employment process Processing of the appointment will be in accordance with https://www.miun.se/medarbetare/styrdokument/ny-styrning-planering-och-uppfoljning/Personal/Anstalla-personal/?item=311447   Terms of employment This is a full-time position (100%) for two (2) years from 1 May 2026, or as agreed.
